Krav Kidz focuses specifically on a child’s needs for self defense, fitness, character reinforcement, increased focus and attention, self discipline, kidnapping prevention and more.  Younger children require different methods of teaching and different approaches in development of their skills in each of these areas and so we offer separate programs for ages 7-11 and ages 12-16.  At age 16 youth can be enrolled into our adult program.  We do this, because statistically, at age 16 a child begins to face adult decisions in school, among their peers and in their first jobs.  Being in the adult world can be scary, so we choose to be sure they are prepared, should they ever need to defend themselves against an aggressive adult attacker.

In our adult Combat Application program, you will learn the physical and mental aspect of applying the striking skills learned in our Combat Conditioning course.  In addition to this, you will learn how to defend against a larger stronger attacker and multiple attackers, whether they choke you from any direction, push you, grab you in a bear hug, they are armed with a gun or knife or catch you by surprise and take you to the ground.  We do not focus on gender specific training.  We offer other programs for that.  However, Krav Maga was invented with the intention of giving men AND women a “Fighting Chance” against attackers whether male or female, armed or otherwise.  With this in mind, we choose to train ladies to defend against other ladies, but also against men.  We cover empty handed techniques against armed attackers and unarmed alike, in stand up and in fighting from the ground.  We cover how to deal with being choked from every possible angle, how to fight from your back to regain control of a circumstance, how to move from defense to offense simultaneously when caught off guard and etc.  We also train you in the proper mindset, we all know that psychology plays a vital role in all of our lives, however, we often overlook how important it is in a life or death assault.  This is where most traditional martial arts programs fail.  First, they teach techniques which were originally effective against an attacker who had never seen anyone with martial arts skill, but the introduction of mixed martial arts competitions like the Ultimate Fighting Championship has changed that for this society. Secondly, they almost never train the student to deal with the physical and mental stress the body endures under the influence of adrenaline and how it affects our ability to fight back and truly defend ourselves effectively.  Krav Maga is one of only a few combat systems which is currently used in real combat on a daily basis somewhere in the world. Therefore, it has evolved to be effective at training your body AND mind realistically.  Traditional martial arts simply cannot accomplish both of these tasks at the same time due to the nature of modern attacks and the lack of evolution in techniques to stay ahead of the criminal element.

Our  fitness program is bar none the best aerobic and strength workout you will ever experience.  No matter what shape you are in when you start, just start - we will guide you one step at time to the best shape and condition of your life!  Each class has a slightly different focus; one may be on abs and legs, the next on shoulders and back, another total body, another PT Burnout...... and on, and on, and on.  Mr Hillis participated in training in the fitness field from the American College of Sports Medicine several years ago.  His focus of study was on Exercise Kinesiology and Sports Nutrition.  Since then he has stayed on the cutting edge of exercise science and nutritional research.  The consummate student, he is always studying, looking for better ways to help you get into and stay in the best shape of your life.  His workouts are tough, focus very heavily on Core Training and will definitely challenge even the most "in shape" of individuals, but are easily modified for the beginner.  Ask yourself this question; "If weight training or aerobics/running are the best exercises, then why does the military and even most special forces units use body weight exercises as the basis for the majority of their fitness programs?"  Many people believe calisthenics are not as effective for burning body fat as aerobics/running or that they will not build strength as well as weight training.  We PROVE they are BOTH WRONG!  If used properly, in conjunction with proper diet, some weight training and some aerobics, calisthenics will not only make you lean faster, but can be modified with certain scientific principles to build new muscle!  One unique aspect of our Combat Conditioning is our use of the SAME techniques which are taught to our self defense students.  We just use them as the aerobic portions of the workout!  We are not talking about the same ol' Tae Bo, Fitness Kickboxing, and Cardio Karate you have already seen.... we are talking about an innovative use of REAL self defense techniques, proven in REAL combat, in REAL wars, in the REAL world.  Just made into a workout.  This way, when you decide you are ready to take on a self defense program, it's an easy transition for you; OR if you already do both, one just makes you better at the other and vice versa - it's synergistic!! You should try our Combat Conditioning classes, you will not be disappointed.  Add our Adult Combat Application course for only $20 more per month!!

Women's Classes/Seminars - To Register and Pay for Attending the Next Event Click HERE

 

As you have likely already heard, we offer Women's Seminars.  These usually focus on Rape and Violent Crime Prevention.  Watch our Special Events page and the local newspapers for dates and times.  We often have women who tell us, "If I only knew this a few years ago when I was attacked...."; they are the reason we do this.  No one should have to become a statistic.  We are passionate about what we do, and so we strive to be the best at it.  We offer several training modules.  Each builds upon the other and all are comprised of easy to learn and easy to remember techniques, most of which can be used by women of all ages to stop an aggressive attacker.  If you have been a victim, are in a vulnerable position with your job or home life now, or feel you just want to be able to defend yourself "in case" someone ever does attack you, PLEASE let us help you.  You will find our prices are not only reasonable, but for the quality of training and effectiveness of the skills you learn, a real bargain against anything else on the market.

 


 

Extreme Conditions Survival Course(s) - Three to Six Day Adventure Packages will be offered, as well as One Day Orientation      Programs. 

 

Cottonwood Combat NOW offers a variety of instructinal blocks which will contain all the essential elements of education for surviving a variety of extreme situations. Including but not limited to: Nuclear fall out, trapped in a building due to disaster (natural or otherwise), urban an rural survival.  Each block will contain several of the following: water procurement and purification, choosing a defensible location, building short to long term shelter using items which will be naturally camouflaged, basic to advanced handgun (using Israeli Combat Shooting Methods), scouting for and capturing small game, field drying jerky for long term use, home/office preparations for a variety of emergencies, silent hunting skills, alternative food sources, long term survival in multiple climates, choosing survival gear, use of a carbine length weapon for survival, carbine marksmanship (using the Israeli Combat Method), basic to advanced Krav Maga, and MUCH more!
