DISCLAIMERAs most Krav Maga practitioners already know, a certain non-Israeli organization, here in the US, attempted to copyright both the name and techniques/tactics unique to KM.  Their attempt failed, in no small part to the credit of members of the Israeli Krav Maga Association (IKMA).  They did however succeed in gaining legal rights to the logo, used by the IKMA, via US Copyright/Trademark laws - without permission from the IKMA.  The IKMA was the association Imi Lichtenfeld founded.  The unscrupulous dealings of this other group culminated in their registering the already registered (in Israel) logo featuring the Hebrew characters for KM enclosed in a circle.  Please refer to the IKMA website at the following 2 links for more information:  Request to Remove and the Official Israeli Document.  After speaking with a legal advisor, we have agreed to remove the 'Kaf' 'Mem' (KM) logo from our site.  This is in lieu of the outcome of currently open ended litigation which may some day be resolved by the IKMA.  It is with sincere apology if, in using the original IKMA logo, we in anyway caused anyone to believe we may have chosen to align with this other non-Israeli organization.  While the non-Israeli organization may be big and popular, we are NOT in any way affiliated with them, nor was it our intention for anyone to believe we are.  Please know we are not "anti" anything in this; we are, however, very pro-Israel.  It appears, the intentions, of this non-Israeli organization were to lock the root source of Krav Maga (Israel) out of the US, unless Israeli instructors paid a fee to them.  If this is the case, then we are in strong disagreement.  Allowing such action would be like someone in the US trying to restrict the use of the word karate or claim all rights to every style of karate.  This is ludicrous, especially since the source of Asian martial arts is Asia.....NOT the US.
